Delta Airlines Pet Policy- Pet Charges

Delta Airlines Pet Policy & charges

You will need an approved airline pet carrier and follow the requirements if you want to carry a cat or dog with Delta. However, Delta Airlines has defined a set of policies for carrying pets to domestic and overseas destinations. Small dogs, cats, and household birds are allowed to travel by this air group. However, these animals are not permitted in First Class, Business Class, or Business Elite on any international flight. To travel any US city with Delta, your pet should be 10 weeks old or more. If it is entering any US city from any foreign country, it has to be at least 16 weeks old. However, the defined age is 15 weeks for the animal if it is flying to the European Union.

Pets are not checked in at curbside, so your check-in will be done as per Delta Airlines pet policy at the passenger counter. To do that, you will be insisted to pay a fee. Your pet carrier will be considered as a piece of carry-on luggage. Delta never transports any in-cabin pet to or from these destinations – Dakar, Barbados, Dubai, Australia, Hawaii, Iceland, Ireland, Hong Kong, Jamaica, South Africa, United Kingdom, New Zealand, and the United Arab Emirates. If it is a service animal and traveling to or from Hong Kong, South Africa, or the United Kingdom, it is eligible to travel inside the cabin.

The carrier must have enough space for your pet to stand, sit, and turn around. It has to be blessed with a waterproof bottom and adequate ventilation. On the basis of the aircraft serving the route, the career measurement varies. You can carry only one pet unless you are carrying a mother cat or dog with it. If they are compatible to sit and turn, two pets of the same species from 10 weeks to 6 months are allowed to travel into one kennel. In that case, you will have to pay for 1 pet. Nevertheless, the pet travel fee is 125USD for US, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and 200USD international $75USD Brazil. For any other information related to pet transport, you are suggested to dial Delta Airlines customer service – it is a 24 hours helpline number.
